Cookie Policy
The short version
- Until you press Accept in the cookie notice, this site sets no analytics or recording cookies and loads none of those tools.
- If you accept, Google Analytics and Mouseflow run so we can learn what works on the site. If you decline, they never load.
- We do not run advertising or retargeting cookies on this site at the moment.
- Changed your mind? The “Cookie settings” link in the footer lets you answer again whenever you like.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Similar tools, such as your browser’s local storage, do the same job. On this page we call all of them “cookies” to keep things simple.
Your choice
When you first arrive, a notice asks whether you accept analytics and recording. Nothing optional loads before you answer. We remember your answer in your browser so we do not keep asking. To change it later, open “Cookie settings” in the footer and choose again. Clearing your browser data also resets it.
What we use
| Name | Provider | What it does | How long | When it is set |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| mk_consent | Marketingly (browser storage) | Remembers whether you accepted or declined, so the notice does not return on every page. | Until you clear your browser data | When you make a choice |
| _ga | Google Analytics | Gives each browser an anonymous ID so we can count visitors and pages. | 2 years | Only after you accept |
| _ga_ followed by our property ID | Google Analytics | Keeps track of a single visit as you move between pages. | 2 years | Only after you accept |
| mf_user and mf_ followed by our project ID | Mouseflow | Links page views into one anonymous recording and heatmap so we can see where visitors get stuck. Text typed into forms is not recorded. | Up to 1 year | Only after you accept |
Google Tag Manager is the small loader that starts the tools above. It is also loaded only after you accept.
What does not use cookies here
- Our forms and the free SEO check set no cookies. They keep a short-lived counter on our server, tied to your IP address, to stop spam and misuse.
- The results calculator and the Google Ads preview tool work inside your browser and set no tracking cookies.
- Our web server and security network process requests to deliver pages and block attacks. They may keep standard logs, but they do not use cookies to follow you around.
- Logged-in staff receive sign-in cookies for the site’s dashboard. Visitors never get them.
How to switch things off yourself
- Decline the notice, or change your answer in “Cookie settings”.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some browsers also have a tracking protection mode.
- Install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Read how Google uses cookies and how Mouseflow handles data.
